Double Glazing Removal​

Do you have your heart set on moving an extra large sofa which doesn't split into sections moved into your new property, but your doors are below standard width ? On thede rare occasions sometimes the only way forward is to remove the glass from a double glazed groundfloor window in order to get the item into the property.

I would recommend measuring the doorways of the properties at both ends to find out if it is going to fit. Removing glass is generally a last resort. but can be the way forward in these situations.

 

Having moved 1000's of sofas through doorways, there are a variety of techniques I use to safely encourage large sofas through undersize doorways, but on rare occasions where the item is too big and the doorway is too narrow and it is not  phyiscally possible to get it through, forcing it is never the answer.

 

I am able to safely remove double glazed windows for clients and I have also helped other removals and delivery companies in this way. Using this method, the item can enter the property through the removed window. Once it is in, I replace the glass.

Please note that I am only able remove PVC double glazed windows on the groundfloor and it is the glass itnot the frame which I remove and so it is the glass width which you measure. If you would like to move an oversized item to any other floor inside of your property other than the ground floor, once I have it in the property through a removed window, I can usually get most things, even oversized ones up the stairs and into a room after that.

On extremely rare ocassions, when all the factors in play conspire to make getting the item up the stairs and into a room an impossible task (ceiling height, door placement etc.) This type of move is outside of the scope of an ordinary domestic mover like myself and would be best handled by a specialist moving company because it involves obtaining roadside permits for a scissor lift and having banksman in place to safegaurd the public.
